How ProProperty Watch Works
A Thoughtful Approach to Caring for Your Home While You're Away
Inviting someone into your home requires trust. That's why we use a clear process built around preparation, agreed instructions, documented visits and direct communication.
Step 1: Let's Talk About Your Property
We begin with a conversation about your home, your travel plans and what matters most to you.
We'll discuss:
Your anticipated departure and return dates
Your preferred visit frequency
Your home's heating, plumbing and other systems
Access arrangements and security instructions
Any property-specific concerns
Additional services you may need
Step 2: Initial Property Assessment
Before recurring visits begin, we review the property and establish a baseline.
Where appropriate, we document important areas such as the basement, sump-pump area, thermostat, furnace, water heater, electrical panel, appliances and exterior.
This gives us a useful reference point for future visits. If we later notice a change, we can describe what we observed and where it occurred.
The assessment is a visual review, not a technical inspection or certification of the home's systems.
Step 3: Create Your Property Profile
We record the information needed to care for your home according to your instructions.
Your profile may include:
Emergency contacts
Preferred contractors
Alarm and access instructions
Thermostat preferences
Water-shutoff information
Sump-pump details
Plant and mail instructions
Special requests and communication preferences
Your information is handled as part of our service procedures, with access limited to what is needed to provide the agreed service.
Step 4: Scheduled Visits
We visit according to your agreed schedule and follow the checklist established for your property.
We look for visible changes and concerns, record our observations and complete any agreed additional tasks that are scheduled for that visit.
Step 5: Receive Your Visit Report
Following each visit, you receive a report showing that the visit took place and summarizing the observations.
Reports may include:
Visit date and time
Overall status
Areas checked
Observations and notes
Relevant photographs
Any follow-up recommended
Step 6: Communication When It Matters
If we notice a concern, we'll contact you using the communication method agreed upon in advance.
When action is needed, we can discuss available options and coordinate a contractor where authorized.
For urgent situations, our response depends on the circumstances, your instructions, access and contractor availability. Home Watch is not a substitute for emergency services.
Clear Expectations From the Beginning
Before service starts, you'll know what is included, how often visits occur, how reports are delivered, how additional services are charged and how concerns are handled.
Prepared. Present. Documented.
